THE ART OF WAR
El Arte de la Guerra” (The art of War) accompanies the warrior through his path towards emptiness; the path that is birthed through innocents and dies in the meaninglessness of violence. This sad ritual of de-humanisation is realised as the cost of mutual defeat. Loosers are those who die, and those who do not.
“El Arte de la Guerra” is the union of different artist’s knowledge and sensitivity in contemporary flamenco. It is a creation that uses the rich rhythm, sensitivity and passion of the art, the physicality of contemporary dance, and a musical combination of flamenco, electronic and acoustics.
“The audience, which filled the auditorium of the Arts Academy of Berlin to the last row (venue of the world premier), welcomed Juan Carlos Lerida as an avant-garde artist, a renovator of new forms of expression, combining in an original manner the traditional and the contemporary, far from the colourful folklore, creating his own style.
At the end of the performance, an ovation exploded and broke the silence that reigned during the entire piece, as if all of the emotions that had been contained during the representation, just over an hour long, flowed out in a sea of applauses.”

THE LEARNING
A dancing show based on the J.L. Lagance homonymic story.
A man wakes up. Little by little returns to the conscience. He feels that it is there and that today it begins life.
Find oneself from a distant memory, fight to rediscover what had been converted into simple custom,
leave what does not serve, take advantage of what we know and create something new.
To learn, unlearn, relearn, in order to reach to be men more free and happier.
This project is born from an encounter of three artists, three techniques, three different sensitivities that after two year of contact and exchanges have felt the desire and the requirement of pooling their experience to find convergent paths where discover a fresh point of view on dance theater and flamenco.
Creating an opportunity to explain a story without doing so through the expressiveness of the movement and the landscapes of the sound space.

BAILOGRAFÍA
«Some memories are like mutual friends, they know how to bring about reconciliations». (Marcel Proust)
The grammar of dance. The choreographic traces of a body. Or on a body. A place for encounters between two temporalities: presence and absence. The imprint of memory; scar or path.
Fernando LR Parra
A piece composed by looking back at its trajectory, with a natural revision imposed by the passing of time and its experience and evolution. Every night a guest artist will be invited to take part in this danced biography.
