CHER

"It is in this trembling, deviant, displaced and infinitely distorted movement that life exists?
Cher, a solo by Juan Carlos Lérida, is the search for an autotune for the out-of-tune body. A variety show that extracts oil from the ground to set fire to the theatre and to be able to see the future"

The auto tune, the vocal tuning tool popularised by the singer Cher, is brought back to its original function: to search for oil through sound waves. The reverberations of these sounds allow us to get to know the interior of the earth and find hidden oil wells.

In that trembling, deviant, ramshackle, displaced and infinitely distorted movement where life exists, Juan Carlos Lérida presents one number after another, changing shape, showing and hiding, always in movement. Sliding through the transitions.

As in a variety show. Like a one-man band, he dances, sings and prophesies, plays the harmonica and drums until he sets himself and the rest of the theatre on fire.

After the fire, the only thing left to do is to go on. One step after the other. Towards another time that only exists tomorrow.

CHER , a solo by Juan Carlos Lérida, is the search for an auto tune for the out of tune body.
